ISO 22716:2007 gives guidelines for the production, control, storage, and shipment of cosmetic products. These guidelines cover the quality aspects of the product & this standard is recognized by International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation (ICCR), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN). ISO 22716 introduces a management systems approach to documenting and regulating the production, control, storage, and shipment of cosmetic products. FDA has declared elements of ISO 22716, as appropriate, and consistent with FDA regulations. Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practices are a set of hands-on advice, operational rules, and organizational guidelines that focus on human, technical and administrative factors affecting product quality.

 ISO 22716 certification is the way to demonstrate compliance with GMP. ISO 22716 provides Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines, rules, and advice that underpin the European Union’s new Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. The term ‘Cosmetics GMP’ is commonly used to refer to ISO 22716:2007.
