Why Get IE CodeRegistration
Certification Benefits

IEC Certification

  • Mandatory license for businesses to export or import goods and services

  • Issued by the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade)
  • Applies to manufacturers, service providers, eCommerce exporters, and freelancers

IEC Certification is the first legal step to take your business global. Whether you’re exporting handmade products, software services, food items, or machinery — an Import Export Code (IEC) is essential to legally conduct international trade from India.

It acts as your business’s unique identification with customs, ports, banks, and shipping companies. Without IEC, you cannot clear shipments, receive foreign currency payments, or sell goods on platforms like Amazon Global or eBay.

Unlike other licenses, IEC comes with lifetime validity, no renewal, and no filing burden. At Startup Bharat, we handle the entire process online — from document collection and DGFT filing to getting your code issued in just 1–3 days.

IEC Registration Process

We help you get your Import Export Code (IEC) quickly and legally through a fully online process governed by the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade).

🔹 Step 1: Document Collection

You provide basic documents:

  • PAN Card of individual/company

  • Aadhaar Card (linked with mobile) or Digital Signature (DSC)

  • Business registration proof (GST certificate, partnership deed, or company incorporation)

  • Cancelled cheque or bank certificate

  • Passport-size photo of applicant

  • Email ID and mobile number

🔹 Step 2: Online Application on DGFT Portal

We create your profile on the DGFT portal and fill Form ANF-2A with business details, bank info, and supporting documents.

🔹 Step 3: Payment of Government Fee

A one-time ₹500 government fee is paid through the DGFT portal.

🔹 Step 4: e-Signing with Aadhaar or DSC

The application is authenticated via:

  • Aadhaar e-verification (OTP), or

  • Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

🔹 Step 5: IEC Certificate Issuance

Upon successful verification, the 10-digit IEC code is issued within 1–3 working days and emailed directly to you in PDF format.
